There was alot of internal debate at the Goose about this reel..it's sleek, compact and looks really cool, but would it be worth the price of admission?
When we actually got one in our hands, we were happy we pulled the trigger on these reels. They are solidly constructed(machined from one piece of high grade aluminum).It has a bunch of high quality components, which keeps the weight down, but substantial enough that it looks like it will take hard fishing and a mild dose of abuse fairly well compared to other high end bait casters. Virtually no torquing when we messed around with it at the shop.
The drag is substantial and smooth. You can probably comfortably fish it out of its weight class without toasting the drag. The precision controls will allow you to fish lighter lures than perhaps you are used to on other high end baitcasters.
The 13 bearings make this a smooth operator... it's silky smooth. For its capacity, this reel is small and fits ergonomically in your hand.
